Sales Policy
Thank you for your interest in Avonlea Acres goats! We would love to chat with you about your goals and what you are looking for. Feel free to inquire about what our animal's strengths and weaknesses are. We hope to be able to provide you with an animal to best suit your needs.
Reservations
To reserve a future kid, a $50 non-refundable deposit is required towards the breeding of your choice. If kid is not available, deposit can be refunded, transferred to another kid, or rolled over to the next breeding season. We also keep a free waiting list. Paid reservations take priority over the waiting list. We reserve the right to retain any kid born.
Once your kid is born, 50% of the price is required within 48 hrs. The remainder is due at pickup.
Bottle babies can leave at 3-4 weeks of age. Dam-raised kids can leave between 8-12 weeks of a age. All kids will be disbudded upon leaving, unless otherwise requested.
Adult animals require a 50% deposit towards the total sale cost to hold.
Biosecurity
Our herd is tested annually for CAE/Johnes. Results are available upon request. CL testing can be inaccurate, so we do not test for this but maintain an abscess-free herd and have never had a case. Any additional testing is available upon request, at the buyers expense.
Herd Care
Our herd is annually vaccinated with CDT. BoSe injections are given prior to breeding. Copper is given 1-2x a year. Dams will be given a CDT vaccine 30 days prior to kidding. Deworming is given as needed. All kids are raised on coccidia prevention via calf pro or medicated feed.
Replacement Policy
Defects:
If any animal sold is shown to have a defect (e.g. a spur teat), an animal of equal value will replace it. If an animal cannot be bred within 2 years, that animal will be replaced. If an animal develops CH before 2 years of age, that animal will be replaced, with return of papers. No monies will be refunded.
Congenital Myotonia:
Any animal can be tested at the buyer's expense. CM/CM animals will be replaced, if no offspring have been registered. CM/N animals will not be refunded or replaced.
Show performance, milk production, etc. are not guaranteed. We cannot guarantee the success of any animal.
CVIs are available at the buyer's expense. Buyer has the right to refuse an animal if they feel it is not in a healthy condition. We are not responsible for the health of any animal after it leaves the property. Taking an animal home implies that you are satisfied with the condition that it is in.
ROR
We would greatly appreciate the first right of refusal on any animal we sell. We reserve the right to purchase 30 straws of semen from any buck we sell, at the price of collection.
